How Meredith's Mission was started...

Meredith’s Mission was founded in 2024 from our own family’s experience of childhood cancer. When our daughter Meredith was diagnosed, we quickly discovered that while the medical teams offered excellent clinical care, there was very little support for the emotional, practical and everyday challenges that families face. We experienced the isolation of long hospital stays, the exhaustion of constant appointments, and the need for therapies that could help us and Meredith cope with the trauma. 

Out of that journey, Meredith’s Mission was created — to make sure no family has to walk this path alone.

Today, our charity provides wraparound support that cares for the whole family. Children are offered creative therapies like one-to-one music therapy, giving them an outlet to express themselves and find moments of joy. Parents receive wellbeing and practical therapies such as counselling, physiotherapy and osteopathy, alongside peer groups that bring them together with others who truly understand. Families are supported through respite opportunities, family days, and nourishing meals during long hospital stays, helping to ease the everyday burdens.

Everything we do is about reducing isolation, improving wellbeing, and bringing strength, hope and connection to families during the hardest of times.
